Top Highlight Destinations in Hanoi to Ha Giang Tours

Tours from Hanoi to Ha Giang always attract both international and local tourists. It’s easy to understand as the route is full of impressive landscapes. The following destinations are all the most amazing ones, so visit all of them if you can.

Ba Be Lake and Ba Be National Park

In a lot of tours from Hanoi to Ha Giang, you will see that a lot of them include Ba Be Lake. This is easy to understand because the lake is one of the twenty most beautiful freshwater lakes in the world (ranked by UNESCO). Located in Nam Mau commune, Ba Be district, Bac Kan province – about 230 kilometers from Hanoi to the North, this landmark attracts thousands of visitors every year. The lake is considered the green heart of Ba Be National Park for regulating water resources for surrounding areas.

Situated at an altitude of about 150 meters above sea level, Ba Be Lake has a depth of about 20 meters. Imposing mountain ranges and vast forests encircles the lake, making a natural masterpiece. Around the lake, you can find several stunning attractions, such as An Ma Temple, Ba Goa Islet, the Angel Pond, etc. And can we miss Ba Be National Park? No, we can’t ignore this ideal ecotourism destination. Besides the majestic landscape, the rich flora and fauna here will definitely impress you. Mind-blowing beauty of Puong Cave, Dau Dang Waterfall, Hua Ma Cave in the park is worth a visit as well.

Ma Pi Leng Pass

Moving from Hanoi to Ha Giang usually requires us to go on Ma Pi Leng Pass. Ma Pi Leng pass is truly a pride of the whole country. It is one of the four greatest passes of the North. For those who are going to join a Ha Giang motorbike tour, experiencing Ma Pi Leng is a must.

The road is relatively dangerous as the pass is not only long but full of curves. Ma Pi Leng pass is 20 kilometers long, and its peak is 1200 meters high. In spite of all the risks, travelers still want to conquer this route because of the gorgeous panorama they can watch from above – the sublime endless-like mountain ranges, the tranquil evergreen Nho Que River, the vast fields of flowers, etc. Presumably, all of those spectacles will make you feel like you are about to enter another world.

Quan Ba Heaven Gate

If Ma Pi Leng Pass is the way to heaven, then Quan Ba is the gate. Naming this site the Heaven Gate is absolutely not an exaggeration. Quan Ba Heaven Gate is 1500 meters above sea level and 43 kilometers away from Ha Giang city.

To reach this site, you have to conquer hundreds of steps first. Every time you look at “the gate” from below, you might be wondering “is this really the way to heaven?” The site is an ideal point to contemplate the grandeur of nature in Ha Giang. Seeing towering Co Tien Mountain putting on a scarf of clouds and the tranquil small villages at the mountain foot will help you find peace in your soul. Quan Ba Heaven Gate is of great importance for residents in the area, as well as for Vietnamese history. It is truly a symbol of the whole land.

Dong Van Rock Plateau

It will be a pity if you go from Hanoi to Ha Giang without visiting Dong Van Rock Plateau. This rocky area has an altitude of about 1500 meters and an area of 2356.8 km2. It owns a series of geological heritage and imprints on the history of the development of the earth’s crust. Here you can also learn more about the unique culture of many ethnic groups. The overwhelming beauty of Dong Van Rock Plateau is also adorned with unusual houses and colorful clothes of the local people.

We highly recommend you visit Vuong Family’s Palace since it is obviously one of the most attractive sites in Ha Giang. The palace was built in the early 20th century and belonged to Vuong Chinh Duc, also known as the Cat King. Being one of the wealthiest and most powerful men in the area, this man paid the equivalent of more than seven million dollars to build this majestic palace. French and Chinese architecture, together with construction methods of the H’Mong people were applied in the process of creating this 3000m2 building. The current condition of the palace is unbelievably good, while its mysterious beauty keeps satisfying tourists.

Hoang Su Phi

On your trip from Hanoi to Ha Giang, please don’t miss your chance to visit Hoang Su Phi. This is a district in the West of Ha Giang. The landscape here is incredible with a vast forest and glamorous terraced fields. Some notable areas are Ban Phung and Ho Thau. Well, if you have made an effort to Hoang Su Phi, why don’t you venture to Tay Con Linh Peak and Chieu Lau Thi Peak. Higher than 2000 meters, these peaks are ideal places for those who love trekking to conquer. Reaching any of them, you will get two rewards: feeling proud and marveling at the sea of clouds right under your feet.

Five destinations above are all worth visiting because they are all remarkable landscapes. Moreover, they are places where you can learn more about the diversity of Vietnamese culture. Before you join any tours from Hanoi to Ha Giang, make sure that you will come to at least two of the attractions above.
